Position Title: Pantry Staff / Pantry Worker
Department: Food & Beverage / Kitchen
Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor / Food Service Manager
Pantry Staff are responsible for the preparation, organization, and maintenance of cold food items, ingredients, and pantry supplies. They support the kitchen team by ensuring ingredients are prepped, stored properly, and readily available for service.
Prepare cold items such as salads, sandwiches, fruits, desserts, etc.
Organize and stock pantry shelves with ingredients and supplies.
Assist chefs with basic food prep and mise en place.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pantry area.
Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or expired items.
Label and store food items correctly following safety standards (FIFO).
Wash and sanitize utensils, equipment, and surfaces used in the pantry.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Ability to follow instructions and recipes.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Physically fit – may involve standing for long periods and lifting supplies.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an advantage.
Food safety certification may be required (depending on location).
